Did that get your attention? I had a subscription to Giant Magazine back in 2005 when it was pretty new. I enjoyed it but did not resubscribe - I just get copies on the news stand when I travel. It seems to work well for me.
The circulation has climbed up to around 400K, which is pretty good, but a recent story I heard on NPR made reference to a $15M/month ad revenue income. No way Jose. Or maybe, it is full of lovely glossy photographs, articles for men, articles on entertainment figures (thankfully Paris Hilton Free so far)(Free Paris Hilton? No.)(Help, I'm arguing with myself!), etc, etc
What makes Giant stand out from GQ or Cargo or Detail? Really, not that much. I mean, I have a lifetime subscription to GQ magazine and all, so I obviously prefer that. But Detail is good, and so is Giant. There are a lot of good mens magazines that you don't have to be ashamed to read in public.
Cough, Maxim, cough, FHM, cough.
Anyway, I really enjoyed the last issue of Giant - there was a good retrospective article about aging rock stars and how they seem to do even more poorly than aging child stars in Hollywood. It was a thoughtful article and it made me consider subscribing to Giant again. Maybe I can sneak another magazine subscription past the wife.....
